Judas Priest’s album and merchandise visuals stand out for their inventive artistry. For the red vinyl limited-edition reissue of Screaming for Vengeance, the central problem was to create a design that both honoured the band's legacy and brought a fresh, contemporary perspective. The analysis focused on how to visually carve these elements into a cohesive narrative that resonates with both longtime fans and new audiences. The final outcome is a vibrant, colourful design that uniquely blends ’80s aesthetics with an Art Deco feel, layered with political and societal commentary. The front cover visually represents the key themes of injustice, societal issues, love, space, and government control—echoing the narrative of the title song, ‘Screaming for Vengeance’. Created in Illustrator and Photoshop for the Experimental Composites subject at Swinburne Online, this project received an Honourable Mention at the C2 Awards.
